Bad race....

...okay, it wasn't bad, bad. Not epically bad, not Paula Radcliffe poop my pants on the street bad (close enough), just not a great race.

So, anyway. Enough with the poop talk.

Out with the old (bad) races and in with the new....as in new coaches.

I am SO excited (and scared and then excited again) to have a real-deal-no-jokes-make-me-work-my-butt-off triathlon coach, Jen Harrison (formerly Parker -- no wonder I had to have her as my coach, right?)

I had been a fan of Jen's blog, saw that two of my blog buddies (Angela Kidd and Mama Simmons -- both mommies themselves and sickeningly fast to boot) were coached by Jen (who is also a mom to twins in addition to being Miss uber-triathlete herself) and thought....Why not this year?

Why wait? (I thought I would want to wait until next season for a coach)

I want to get fast this year.

LET'S DO THIS.

BRING ON THE PAIN TRAIN.

Well, maybe not so much of a pain train. Er, let's not get crazy, Jen. I may have spoken too soon. I tend to do that..

How about an "hurts only a little bit tricycle" instead?

Yeah! You will love working with Jen. You will, however, occassionally find yourself cursing her when in the midst of an incredibly painful set.

Glad you're going for it THIS YEAR! I felt he same way when I was preggo... Figured this year would be a wash and next year would be my year... But hey, there's no time like the present, eh? Get ready for a few hard tests in your first week. ;) Its awesome working with Jen though!

I can totally relate when you said that you were ready to get fast 'THIS' year. I felt that way after Elena was born. For some reason having a baby prepared me to finally be more committed to triathlon. Prior to Elena, my training was so inconsistent and it was a low priority. Have fun working with your coach! Can't wait to hear how it goes (especially since I don't have on, but have considered it.)

I think you are going to do GREAT! And your fast will be THIS year.

You and Nat (negative split) are such awesome inspirations.

thanks for the mental push!!

Drago -- is that one of your common google searches?

Weirdo. :)

Yeah, I Google poop terms all the time. If you type in Kate Parker poop that is the number one result. You are pretty good with the search engine optimization.

I was reading this post about "bringing on the pain train" and "coached by Jen Harrison" and I thought- whoa. Glutton. Labor wasn't bad enough, eh? ;)

Also, there's something about having an infant that makes poop references seem less gross than they are. Good work on the search engine optimization. You never know how being the queen of "Paula Radcliffe poop" posts will pay off.
